Course Description

French Advanced 4 is designed for high-intermediate to advanced learners who want to expand their fluency and confidently express themselves across a wide range of topics.

Using the Alter Ego textbook as a foundation, this course balances structured grammar and vocabulary progression with stimulating conversation practice.

It’s perfect for students who want to continue their language journey in a steady, progressive way while applying their skills to real-world topics, debates, and culturally relevant discussions.

Students will continue to build their language proficiency by deepening their understanding of complex grammatical structures and refining their oral and written expression.

Throughout the year, the class will engage in rich dialogue on diverse subjects, such as society, media, the environment, and culture, while staying on track with the textbook material.

The focus on conversation, comprehension, and structured progression ensures students develop both linguistic competence and cultural awareness in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Course Structure

Each week, students will work through sections of the Alter Ego textbook, progressively building language skills while engaging in guided conversation activities that reinforce the themes and vocabulary of the unit.

Grammar points will be explained in context and reinforced through exercises, while listening and reading comprehension activities will expose students to authentic language.

Students will also be encouraged to share personal insights, debate current issues, and role-play everyday scenarios to improve fluency and spontaneity.

Regular writing practice and feedback will support continued development in all skill areas.
