Resin Art

This resin art course is suitable for any experience level or beginner artist and a wonderful relaxing medium. During the session you’ll learn about the safety around using resin, the materials required, and the basic techniques in prepping your homewares, mixing and creating with resin. This course will give you the knowledge to feel confident using resin in your own home. A demonstration will be provided first in creating resin art on a paddle board and 4 plywood coasters from beginning to end. You then get a chance to create your 2 homeware pieces, Paddle board 450mm long and 4 round 100mm Plywood coasters during the session. Up to 4 colours can be chosen for each piece and will be shared among all participants on the day. The resin used during the session is low odour and non-toxic, so you are not required to wear any masks. The resin used is also food safe. NOTE: As this resin takes 24hrs to cure the art will need to be left overnight and collected at another time.

Your Tutor is Rebecca Hill

Rebecca Hill has been teaching at WEA since January 2024.

With Diplomas in Interior Design and Furniture Design, Rebecca is a self-taught Australian Resin Artist who loves our oceans and the surrounding environmental feel. Passionate about creating, drawing, and designing from an early age and influenced by her parents, Bec always found time for art and encapsulates our environment in fluid forms on canvas or wood, mainly using resin, alcohol inks and acrylic paint in her body of artwork. Bec finds these mediums are a great way to express and relax, as they are all very intuitive mediums to work with.

Bec has been experimenting, creating and perfecting techniques using resin in her art since 2014. Resin has a mind of its own, which is why Bec loves creating unique pieces with this high gloss medium. She shares her passion for resin through running workshops for others to learn and expand their knowledge and experience .
