Your Tutor is Froukje Matthews

Froukje Matthews has been teaching at WEA since 2019. 

Froukje (pronounced Frow-ky) was born overseas and educated in the Netherlands. She travelled after finishing college, working as an au pair, in hospitality and on farms. She ran her own Montessori toddler and preschool in Victor Harbor for more than 27 years. She has also taught overseas, wrote a book for parents with young children and these days she is officially 'retired'. 

Froukje has taught children and adults with learning difficulties, including those on the autism spectrum, as well as teaching English literacy to children and adults. More recently she has taught baby massage to new parents to improve bonding between parents and their children.

Froukje is married with three children, who are all adults now. She has a Diploma in Primary Education, a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and Advanced Diploma in Montessori Education, and a Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
