Covers basic grammar with conversational practise, German 1 is a level A1.1 course. Digressions into culture will bring the language alive for you. There is a short break between terms. Textbook required:Schritte International Neu 1.

Your Tutor is Sonja Hagen

Sonja Hagen has been teaching at WEA since 2024.

Sonja is bilingual, as a native Swiss and German speaker, and also has basic knowledge of Italian and French. Sonja has six years of experience in teaching German at the School for the German Language and holds an Accreditation for Teachers in Ethnic Schools of South Australia.

Based on her own experience, Sonja has great respect for people who learn a foreign language in their own country. She considers it an honour to guide WEA students in their first steps towards learning the German language and to introduce them to German culture for an even better understanding.

Sonja loves teaching the German language, as well as travelling, reading, photography and scuba diving.
