Spain was Rome’s most important province. Historian, Pliny the Elder remarked, 'Next to Italy I would place Hispania. All its productive regions are rich in crops, oil, wine, horses, and every kind of ore.' Who was in Spain before the Romans? Why did the Romans go there? How did the Romans conquer Spain? What happened to end it all? This course covers all this and more.

Your Tutor is David Morgan

David Morgan has been teaching at WEA since 2021. 

David has travelled extensively in Spain and Italy, researching ancient sites related to the Roman Empire. He has conducted comprehensive research of academic books and literature specifically pertaining to ancient Spain and its Roman Era.

David has published a travel guide about Roman and pre Roman sites in Spain. The book, “Discovering Roman Spain”, is available as an e-book from online book sellers. David has also developed a WEA armchair travel course based on the book.

David is also qualified as a workplace trainer and has conducted and written various workplace courses over the years.
