Learn about drawing techniques, paper types and how to prepare and adjust some of your tools for a more visual outcome using traditional and contemporary drawing techniques such as: soft and hard pencils detail drawing, blending stumps techniques, loose sepia and graphite powder brush drawing, carbon image transfer practice and much more. Suitable for absolute beginners and those more experienced. Materials cost approximately $70.

Your tutor is Victoria Lowery

Victoria Lowery MA VisArt, GradDipEdSec has been teaching at WEA since April 2011.

Victoria is passionate about the creative process, and has been drawing, painting, working with textiles and designing from an early age, influenced by her father who was an artist and graphic designer. 

Victoria emigrated from Ukraine as an established artist and graduate of L’viv National Academy of Arts, and came to South Australia in 2011 after living and exhibiting her artwork in Austin, Texas in the United States for two years. 

While teaching at the WEA, Victoria completed a Master’s Degree in Visual Art and Design and Illustration and later, a Diploma in Secondary Education at UniSA. 

Victoria teaches a range of WEA art and craft courses including acrylic and watercolour painting, drawing, textiles and fibre design.
