In order to provide astronauts with a more hospitable atmosphere for long periods NASA has carried out some experiments the results of which can be applied to many situations on planet earth too. Many modern products made of synthetic materials, give off gases which can be harmful but plants are a brilliant solution to this problem. Using symbiotic associations in the soils, plants can sequester these toxins, store them and convert them into plant food, thus enriching themselves and the atmosphere. This session also discusses NASAs top 10 indoor plants for cleaner air.
