With step-by-step guidance, you’ll learn how to split, layer and decorate a sponge cake, as well as transform cupcakes into elegant butterfly cakes.

By the end of the session, you’ll take home a stunning bento box filled with your handmade creations, ready to enjoy or gift.

All materials will be provided and are included in the course fee.

Course Structure

The session begins with an introduction to equipment, including stand mixers and essential baking tools.

Students will then work in small groups to prepare and bake cupcakes, following a guided recipe and learning key baking techniques.

A demonstration will introduce the process of preparing a sponge cake, including cutting, filling, layering and decorating.

Participants will then apply these techniques by assembling and decorating their own five-inch sponge cake.

This is followed by a demonstration on creating butterfly cakes, after which students will cut, fill and decorate their own cupcakes.

The session concludes with guidance on arranging and presenting the cakes in a bento box, ensuring a cohesive and polished final result.
