In this session, you'll create a festive landscape inspired by golden skies, warm reds, burnt oranges, and radiant sunsets-capturing the unmistakable feeling of a sun-soaked, distinctly Australian, Christmas. Working with acrylics, you'll explore colour mixing techniques to build rich, vibrant palettes, layer warm tones to create depth and atmosphere, and add luminous highlights that bring a late-afternoon summer glow to life. Your Tutor is Victoria Lowery

Victoria Lowery MA VisArt, GradDipEdSec has been teaching at WEA since April 2011.

Victoria is passionate about the creative process, and has been drawing, painting, working with textiles and designing from an early age, influenced by her father who was an artist and graphic designer. 

Victoria emigrated from Ukraine as an established artist and graduate of L’viv National Academy of Arts, and came to South Australia in 2011 after living and exhibiting her artwork in Austin, Texas in the United States for two years. 

While teaching at the WEA, Victoria completed a Master’s Degree in Visual Art and Design and Illustration and later, a Diploma in Secondary Education at UniSA. 

Victoria teaches a range of WEA art and craft courses including acrylic and watercolour painting, drawing, textiles and fibre design.
