Resin Cheeseboard & Coasters

Course Description

Create your own stunning resin art homewares in this hands-on beginner workshop.

In this relaxing and creative session, you will design and pour resin onto a wooden paddle board and a matching set of four round coasters.

Guided step by step by your tutor, you’ll learn the fundamentals of working with epoxy resin, from preparation and colour selection through to pouring and finishing techniques.

Suitable for complete beginners and those with some creative experience, this workshop focuses on both technique and confidence-building.

You’ll explore colour blending and composition while learning how to safely handle resin and tools.

By the end of the session, you’ll have created a coordinated cheese board and coaster set that will cure overnight and be ready to collect, perfect for your own home or as a handmade gift.

Course Structure

The workshop begins with an introduction to epoxy resin, including safety guidelines and an overview of the tools and materials used.

You’ll learn about preparing wooden homeware surfaces and how to set up your workspace correctly before pouring.

A full demonstration follows, showing how to mix resin accurately, add colour, pour effectively, and use a heat gun to remove bubbles and enhance finishes.

Once confident with the process, students will select their own colour palette and begin creating their resin designs on a paddle board and four round coasters.

Throughout the session, the tutor provides guidance and support to help achieve balanced, visually appealing results.

At the conclusion of the workshop, pieces are placed in a curing area, and instructions are provided for final finishing and collection.
