A further year of language for those who have completed French 7 at the WEA. Textbooks required: Alter Ego A2 and later in the year Alter Ego B1. There is a short break between terms.

Auslan, or Australian Sign Language, has its own vocabulary and grammar. A uniquely Australian language, that is used in every day social, work and school situations.

For complete beginners and those with a little knowledge (ie have completed a WEA Languages for Fun and Travel or Chinese Mandarin Conversation). This course will introduce students to basic Chinese character writing as well as Pin Yin, with conversational practice. Digressions into culture will bring the language alive for you. Language skill extension for those who have completed a Mandarin 5. You will learn more Chinese Mandarin characters and grammar, strengthening listening, reading and writing skills. Textbook required: The New Practical Chinese Reader 2 (2nd Edition).

For beginners and those with a little knowledge (i.e. have completed WEA languages for Fun and Travel course). This year-long course will bring together textbook learning, grammar, phonetics and conversation in a fun, inclusive and relaxed atmosphere. Textbook required: Alter Ego+A1.
